Dreaming Beyond: Our Happiest Day Unleashes a Journey of Joy

I find myself far from the perfect life I once imagined for my daughter. Nevertheless, here I am, surviving, embracing whatever life unfolds. With every shattered dream, I craft new ones because life remains incomplete without dreams.

In 2021, while my daughter peacefully slept, some nights I used to watch shows on Netflix. One show, in particular, left an indelible mark – "Maid," a show EVERY woman should watch. The show is a compelling story of Alex and her 4-year-old daughter, Maddy. Alex faced life's immense struggles and stumbled countless times. The series climaxed as she and Maddy embarked on a journey to Montana to start a new life leaving everything behind.

The last scene lingered in my mind. Alex, with Maddy in their Vox Wagon car, started to drive. In a flashback, Alex recalled a time in a women's shelter when, going through tough times, she was asked to share about her happiest day in a group therapy session. Instead of choosing something from her past, she courageously imagined a future happiest day—describing it as hiking with Maddy in the Sentinel Mountains. Pointing to the Missoula "M" sign on the mountaintop, she explains to her daughter Maddy that "M" stood for Maddy, symbolizing a fresh beginning. Witnessing this scene brought tears to my eyes. After finishing the show with teary eyes, I wiped away my tears, closed my eyes, and tried to envision my own happiest day. You know what I saw?

I envisioned myself behind the wheel, Audree's laughter filling the air. We traveled along a scenic road in our car, basking in the sun's warmth. "Look, Audree," I said, "we are leaving behind a city of memories, heading to our dream home—the most beautiful place to live."
